Direct Admission of Students Abroad (DASA) Scheme

[ A Scheme of Ministry of Education, Government of India For Admissions to NITs, Centrally Funded Technical Institutions and other Premier Technical Institutions (Other than IITs) ]

Those seeking admission under DASA scheme have to register online, fill an online application form and make fee payment through SWIFT/ E- Payment/ NEFT/ RTGS transfer on or before the deadline mentioned in the schedule on DASA website. Further, online application and documents should be uploaded to DASA website through the portal only. It is important to note that only registered applicants will be considered for admission under DASA scheme.

The candidates are advised to visit the website of DASA-2022 for the final list of participating Institutes. They are also advised to visit the websites of the respective Institutes for detailed information about their Institution.

AGE

Only applicants born on or after October 01, 1997 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities only will be taken as authentic.

ACADEMIC ELIGIBILITY
  • The academic eligibility criteria for admission to the under graduate programmes in NITs and other participating Institutions under DASA shall be same as conveyed under JEE (Main) vide this Ministry's letters dated 8th April, 2016 [Letter F.No.19-5/2014-TS.I dated 8th April, 2016].
  • Applicant must have secured a minimum of at least 60% aggregate marks (average of all subjects of qualifying examination taken together) or 6.50 CGPA (on a 10 point scale) or equivalent in the qualifying examination. In case, CGPA on a different scale is awarded OR if only grades are awarded, percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities will only be considered. Applicants appearing for the qualifying examination with the above-mentioned subjects in the academic year 2021-22 and expecting their final results latest by September 15, 2022 may also apply.
  • From the academic year 2021-2022, the admissions shall be based on the ranks / merit secured by students in Joint Entrance Examination (Main) conducted by the National Testing Agency.

RESIDENTAL REQUIREMENT

All foreign nationals studying in any country including lndia, PlOs,OCls and NRls who fulfill prescribed admission criteria shall be eligible.

Prescribed admission criteria for Indian Nationals shall be at least two years of education, inclusive of 11th & 12th or equivalent (not beyond), in a foreign country during the last 8 years and must pass the qualifying examination from abroad.

Submission of Application


The mode of submission of application along with required documents (scanned and uploaded) will be online (www.dasanit.org). No hard copy of application or supporting documents needs to be sent to DASA office.

We recommend the use of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browser while using the DASA admission portal. Internet Explorer (IE) is not recommended. 

The detail of online application process is as follows:

REGISTRATION
  1. Create an account at www.dasanit.org.
  2. To register, the candidate need to enter JEE-2022 (Main) Application Number and Date of Birth (A web link will be mailed to complete the registration process on the email ID registered with JEE Main). The application number of JEE Mains will be your username.
  3. Captcha words (in the space provided).
  4. Once correct details are entered, click Create my account.
  5. An email will be sent to your email address with a link to complete the registration. Check your email and click the web link.
  6. Enter Applicant ID and Password (preferably a combination of uppercase, lowercase, number and symbol to be chosen by the applicant)
  7. Enter Confirm Password.
  8. Once correct details are entered, account creation is complete.
  9. Applicants are advised to note the Applicant ID and password for future logins (for completing the application form and checking the status of the application, etc.) and to keep it confidential.
  10. Fill the required details, Applicants are required to upload the following:
  • Latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB),
  • Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB).
Submit the completed Registration Form. The submitted online registration form should be downloaded and saved for their own records. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of form and documents to DASA office.

Notes:
  • If an applicant is unable to fill the online registration form in one session, he / she can save and continue it in subsequent sessions and complete it (within the specified dates).
  • Once the online registration form is submitted, the applicant will not be able to modify any of the data in the application form.

GUIDELINES FOR SUBMISSION OF REQUIRES DOCUMENTS

Candidates must ensure that scanned copies of required documents are ready in JPG /JPEG format (the size of each such file <500 kB Colour/B&W/Gray Scale) before submission of the application form through online portal. Applicants may use any image editing software like Microsoft Office Picture Manager or Microsoft Paint to resize the photograph and documents. The photograph will appear on admission order hence use a photograph with sufficient clarity and contrast. All the scanned documents should also be clearly readable. Please ensure that name of the candidate is exactly same in the passport, qualifying exam and JEE(Main) result. Following documents has to be uploaded along with the online application form:

  • Applicant’s Passport (Nationals of Nepal who do not have a passport, copy of Authenticated Citizenship Card has to be submitted*).
  • Proof for date of birth (Secondary Education Board / University Certificate [Class X or equivalent] or any certificate issued by the Government authorities).
  • Mark Sheet of 10th, 11th and 12th (or) Equivalent examination(s).
  • Certificate from School authorities (in the format given in Appendix-II on letter head of the school) as proof of completion of 11th and 12th Standard or equivalent. #
  • Percentage/CGPA equivalence provided by the principal examination authorities, in case CGPA on a different scale than that specified is awarded OR if only grades are awarded.
  • Proof of 2 years of education (11th and 12th or equivalent) in foreign country in case of NRI (School leaving certificate/Mark sheets/Study Certificate as in appendix IV).
  • JEE Main -2022 final score card showing rank

Applicant applying under CIWG quota, has to produce all the following documents in addition:

  • Copy of the passport of the parent working in the gulf.
  • Copy of Parent’s visa with a validity on any date in the year 2022.
  • Copy of Parent’s Work Permit with a validity on any date in the year 2022.
  • Certificate from the company/organization as proof that parent is working in gulf country as per Appendix III of UG Brochure.
In case, 12th standard or equivalent is not completed yet, the candidate has to give an undertaking in the online application. Eligible applicants who have appeared/are appearing for the qualifying examination during the academic year 2021-22 can also apply by submitting the completed application form along with the registration fee, first semester tuition fee and other documents.

REFUND DETAILS, DOCUMENT UPLOAD, CHOICE FILLING, FEE PAYMENT & FINAL SUBMISSION

The candidates are advised to read the information brochure carefully and visit website (www.dasanit.org ) regularly for updates. 
  • Applicants must carefully read the Institute wise Seat matrix available on the website before filling the choices.
  • Applicants can enter any number of choices in the order of preference which can be of any combination of Institutes and/or courses of their choice in the order of priority from the list of courses available.
  • Applicants are advised to click “Preview Application Form” button both before Fee payment as well as before final submission of choices respectively to preview the form and ensure that all the required details have been provided correctly. In case, there are some corrections to be made, applicants can click the “Edit” button and edit the application or choices in the respective sections.
  • After ensuring that all the data provided are correct and in the required format the applicant should click “Submit Application Form” button.
  • The submitted online application should be saved and downloaded by clicking “Download Application Form”. Applicants should keep copy of the submitted online application form for their records and print if required. However, the applicants are not required to send the hard copy of application form and documents to DASA office.
  • In any case, the applicants are to ensure that the online application is completed along with required documents before the deadline mentioned in the schedule on DASA website. Provisional admission given based on JEE (Main) rank will be deemed to be cancelled if the applicant is not able to produce the required documents for academic eligibility within the specified time.
  • Candidates are advised to also go through the schedule uploaded separately on DASA website and read the guideline and the notes thoroughly provided therein.
Notes: 
  1. If an applicant is unable to fill the online application in one session, he / she can save and continue it in subsequent sessions and complete it (within the specified dates).
  2. Once the online application is submitted, the applicant will not be able to modify any of the data in the application form.
  3. The applicant can withdraw the application as per the options available on the portal and in such cases refund/deductions will be made as per rules mentioned in this brochure. 
  • The transcripts/ marks/ grade sheets of the qualifying examination should be self-attested.
  • If any supporting documents are in languages other than English or Hindi, authenticated translated copy of the documents in English or Hindi must also be provided.
  • Incomplete/illegible applications and documentary evidences in any respect would be summarily rejected without any communication to the applicants.
  • The applicant should ensure that the application is submitted timely. DASA-2022 Coordinating Institute, NIT Warangal shall not be responsible for delays in online submission, if any.
  • A copy of the qualifying exam marks card is to be provided to the DASA office as soon as it is available.
  • Applicants should submit the original marks card of the qualifying examination and all other documents at the time of admission at the allotted Institute or submit it within the dates specified by that Institute.
  • Please mention full name of applicant & DASA-2022 Application ID in all correspondence.

Authentication of citizenship card for applicants from Nepal 

Applicants applying under DASA Scheme 2022 from Nepal should submit (online) a copy of the authenticated residence proof (Passport or Citizenship card) along with the online application form, to be eligible for considering their application. Applicants can contact Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Nepal or Embassy of Nepal at New Delhi for verification and authentication of the residential proof certificates. Applicants should submit authenticated residential proof documents at the time of admission failing which the provisional admission granted would be cancelled. Hence applicants from Nepal applying under DASA Scheme 2022 are strongly advised to start the authentication process immediately by contacting the office of Embassy of Nepal at New Delhi or Embassy of India in Kathmandu, Nepal at the earliest, so that they will be able to submit the authenticated residential proof certificates at the time of admission.

LAST DATE OF SUBMISSION

Last date for Submission of completed application form along with required fee and supporting documents is displayed on the DASA website (www.dasanit.org).


  Other General Instruction

  • Applicants are advised to read all instructions carefully, before filling the online registration and application form.
  • The application forms must be filled in English only. Application forms, filled in languages other than English will be summarily rejected.
  • Upload recent photograph (3.5 cm x 3.5 cm) while filling registration form.
  • Fill the fee payment details and attach documentary evidence of payment as applicable.
  • Upload scanned copies of other supporting documents, as already specified in the preceding sections, in the application form.
  • If any supporting documents are in languages other than English or Hindi, authenticated translated copy of the documents to English or Hindi, issued by Indian embassy/ consulate of the respective country must also be uploaded.
  • Applicants who are nationals of Nepal but do not have a passport, need to submit copy of Authenticated Citizenship Card.
  • Applicant can fill up as many choices as he/ she wishes. Please see the DASA website for details about the Institute and Courses offered under DASA 2022 Scheme.
  • Applicant’s name should be consistently same in passport and all required certificates.
